Over a 100 children ran in this race with 13 runners from Horwich and we were rewarded with 6 age group winners. Our first four runners were separated by only 10 seconds and they were all in the first six. First home was Lewis Wilkes third, and first U/12 after a brilliant run. Closely followed by Cian Healey fourth ,and first U/8 which was a remarkable run for an 8 year old. 1 second later was Tom Massey, first U/10. The team was completed by Luke Brindle, first U/11. All these lads beat last years winning time.
Anna Walton led our girls home winning the U/11 in 5th place after a well paced run. Freya Whittle won her age group U/8 after her first run for Horwich. Other good runs came from Nathan Lancaster, Stephen Brown and Josh Houghton in the boys and in the girls a special mention to Alice and Lara Gouge making their debut for Horwich and both ran well.
The next race in the championship is the Daffodil Doddle on 9th March. Enter soon as it usually fills up.
