Special Hill Reps Session

On Thursday 21st October the usual hill session had a special theme as athletes came to remember Norman Matthews.  The route of looping Fox Holes up then Factory Hill down plus a final effort to the Mast was one of Norman’s favourite sessions.  Some athletes managed 3 loops, other 2, whist some just ran to the Mast. A total of 31 people and 2 dogs gathered under the mast to spend 2 minutes remembering how Norman had influenced them in their running.  As the weather had been very wet for the first part of the week we all expected to get wet again but someone somewhere made sure the weather held, and whist it was cold and windy – no-one get rained on.  It was also very special to see Brenda on Factory Hill as we ran down – giving us something to think about as we ran up Fox Holes again.

Once everyone had completed the session and run back off the top of the hill, we moved into the Bridge for a well earned drink.  18 people, including Brenda, came in and had a drink and shared some time together.  Can I thank everyone who turned up at quite short notice – it was excellent to see so many people making the effort for this special hill session.
