The course was held on a closed track circuit at Prestwold airfield which consisted of a 5k run, 20k bike and 2.5k run to finish. Conditions were extremely windy, but Katie took charge from the first run and led onto the 8 lap bike course. She nearly held the lead but got closed down on the final bike lap by top cyclist Emma Dews but managed to take the lead on the final run.

Winning the British Championship will now give her a place on the GB Duathlon team to compete at the Europeans in France on 2nd May.

Katie is now only three weeks away from her first Triathlon at World level when she competes in the World Cup series in Mexico on the 18th April
