Chorley 4 Mile Trail Race No 3 – Wed 1st July

Katie Ingram stole the show with a course record of 25.36 and a 7th place overall.

Although the race series is no where near as well attended as the old road course races, the scenery on this undulating course and its spectator viewing in the park is much more friendly, and I am sure that with time the series will develop its popularity.

On a particularly hot humid evening Gareth Booth (24.52) was our lead runner in 3rd place taking 50 seconds off his first race in the series. Katie came next in 7th and first lady by over 3 minutes from second placed Mary Aquera of Tyldesley. Paul Boardman (27.55) continues to churn out the races, this time well placed in 12th. Albert Sunter seemed to enjoy his race in 30th place clocking 29.51. Gordon Stone (35.42) ran well for 73rd and Mark Sammon continues to race himself into fitness finishing in 85th for 37.35. Which left the three running partners, Michele and Abigail Sunter and Kath Swindell to further fly the flag for the ladies, and this time with Katie’s help they took second team. Abigail also collected the first Junior lady.
