Askham Fell Race – Cumbria – April 4th 2009 – 1800’ – 8.5 miles
A fresh and changeable fresh spring morning saw a little over sixty
runners tackle the first running of the Askham Fell Race in Cumbria.
With all the big names contesting the British Championships in Ireland,
it was up to a few keen glory hunters fight it out. The route was
largely runnable apart from a good climb up Arthur’s Pike. A group of
four took on the early pace including myself and Brendan Bolland. A
Helm Hill runner made a break for it following the big climb and I
managed to track and overtake him on the last ascent, to bag my first
win; ‘yipeee’ .

Paris Marathon.Latest news from Geraldine Walkington is that she completed the course in 3.23.40. I know Geraldine’s target was 3.15 but 3.23 is a great run and a credit to all the hard work she has put in for the race. the competition was awesome with over 800 other ladies in her age group alone!
Blackpool Half Marathon.
Congratulations on a super run from Christine Boardman who ran a PB of 1.39, Chris finished 11 lady overall from a field of 994, massive improvement.

James Kevan achieved what he wanted from the race first U/23 in 49.08.
