Anglezarke Amble
Our Long Range Group was active again at the weekend covering the miles, this time on the ever popular ‘Amble’ quite a contradiction in terms really, considering you only have choice of a short route 16 miles, or the longer route 24 miles. Albert Sunter led the way for everyone coming in first overall in a very creditable 3.54. Not far behind in second was our ultra specialist Ian Charters running a PB of 3.59, a testament to his hard training, well done Ian. Ian’s better half Pauline and Nicole Kirkham are making quite a team lately as they matched each other stride for stride to a super time of 4.58, nice sub 5.00 ladies. Not far behind and in great form at the moment was our 0/70 Ray Stafford clocking a great 5.06. Ed Swift and Richard Longlands made the trip Ok but I don’t have their times. Lola Smal arrived not knowing that you had to pre –enter but was allowed to start about ten minutes after the gun and completed the short leg in 4.48, not bad for 75!
Two who didn’t quite make it were Mary White and John Coope, Mary had not been ace earlier in the week and retired at Slipper Lowe, John Pulled out at White Coppice with cramps.
