Sunday Nov 9th ~ ROACHES ~ BL 15m 3700’

Not the nicest of weather for the six harriers that decided to give this race a whirl. Quite cold to start with, a bit of rain, strong winds and even sleet on the higher ground – what more could one wish for! A very well marked & marshalled route made this out & back course easy to navigate. James Kevan looked very strong when I saw him on his way back lying in a close second place. I subsequently learned he’d unfortunately suffered a major fuel deficiency a few miles from home which reduced him to a walk. Both Doug Flemming & Ian Hepburn looked very strong when I aw them on their way home but I suspect recent sleepless nights due to his new family addition took their toll on Ian (many congrats Ian). Both Rachel Metcalfe & Suzanne Budgett were pleased with their runs after the previous days’ cross country but both did experience fatigue slots during the run back. Only his second long race since Borrowdale with not too much running in between, Colin Waterworth ran very well and was also pleased with his run.
Suzanne.
