Chorley 4 Mile Trail Race. Wed 5th Aug.

This, the fourth and last race in the series was the fastest for Gareth Booth who took 39 seconds off last months time, running 24.13 for second place on the night. Gareth’s form has improved greatly with some hard training over the last month and he now goes on holiday for a well earned mini rest. Paul Boardman targeted the series from the first race and was rewarded with third overall in the series and also second vet overall. On the night Paul was 17th in 27.26. Well done Paul good series.
Albert Sunter was 22nd in 28.01 and probably enjoyed his run round the park after his epic at Borrowdale, interesting to see that he was 1 minute 50 seconds faster than his time last month! Nice to see Steve Jackson racing hard again and doing well in 43rd, clocking 30.20. Also good to see Gaynor Higson back on the race scene after her long rehab of an old injury, Gaynor was 65th in 33.12 and second 0/40. Keith Makin also ran and must have been very pleased with a race time of 33.28 only 16 seconds behind Gaynor in 69th. Kath Swindell (39.00) was on much better form than the July race running 3.46 faster and in 91st place turning the tables on Michele Sunter (40.15) – from July – in 95th place, who also went over two minutes faster.
