A bumper weekend of action saw Chris Essex-Crosby take on the formidable challenge known simply as “The Lap” – an ultra-marathon of 47 miles and over 8,000 feet of ascent on ungroomed trails around Lake - 12.5.26 Track Update
A fantastic Saturday for the Horwich juniors at the Greater Manchester Champs at Leigh, a total of 9 athletes picked up 3 Golds, 1 Silver and 3, 4th places and 10 PB’s. The day started - Kevan Sails to Victory at Foe Edge
Monday evening saw the annual mile-long Fleming Trophy handicap race held. Phoebe Blythe was victorious on the night with a total calculated time of 10.43. Archie Fletcher was the first male and 2nd overall in - Harriers Excel at London Marathon
On a warm sunny day down south in the Capital, the record books were being rewritten. The 2026 TCS London Marathon broke the Guinness World Records title for the largest number of finishers in a - Blackstone Edge Fell Race and Backyard Ultra
A dozen Harriers could be found over the weekend at the Blackstone Edge Fell Race near Littleborough. This counts towards the English Fell Running Championships and is a 5.6km race with over a thousand feet
A Horwich Harriers Club Race. The Fielden Cup is a great chance to meet up with other Harriers and enjoy a get together afterwards.
Meet at junction on George’s Lane with Matchmoor Lane between 6.15pm and 6.40pm armed with a recent time for a measured distance. This will be used to calculate your handicap.
First runner off at 6.45pm. First Horwich Harrier back wins the Fielden Cup. Open to any runner, over 15. No fee.
Club get together at the Ale House after. Stay as long as possible.
