Starting with track, England Athletics’ U20 championships took place at the Alexander Stadium, Birmingham, July 25-27. Club runner Benjamin Hall took an excellent bronze medal in the 3000m steeplechase in a time of 9m17s. Congratulations - Juniors Rack Up the Personal Bests
Summer continued as Danny Hope tackled the hilly Ingleborough Mountain Fell Race, an 11km route around Ingleborough with nearly 2000ft of ascent. He came 4th V40 and 15th overall, almost getting home under an hour.
A Horwich Harriers Club Race. The Fielden Cup is a great chance to meet up with other Harriers and enjoy a get together afterwards.
Meet at junction on George’s Lane with Matchmoor Lane between 6.15pm and 6.40pm armed with a recent time for a measured distance. This will be used to calculate your handicap.
First runner off at 6.45pm. First Horwich Harrier back wins the Fielden Cup. Open to any runner, over 15. No fee.
Club get together at the Ale House after. Stay as long as possible.
