Warrington – 6/04/08
Three Horwich junior athletes braved the wintery conditions and made the
short journey to Warrington today.
Noah Saunders, in only his second outing as an U13, achieved his Grade 4 AAA
Common Standard with a personal best of 14.40 seconds in the 100m (a whole 1
second off his previous PB set only last Sunday).
Jonah Saunders, not to be out done by his older brother, had a tremendous
afternoon with a personal best of 24.64m in the cricket ball throw. Jonah
also recorded 13.2 seconds in the 75m and 2.60m in the long jump.
Zoe Gaskell, on her 1st outdoor meeting, recorded 13.6 seconds in the 75m,
29.1 seconds in the 150m and picked up bronze medal in the cricket ball
throw.
Unfortunately, due to adverse weather conditions, the meeting was abandoned
early with no 200m races being run.
Well done to those athletes who competed and hope you thaw out soon!
