Coniston 14 – 28th March

It was a real spread of club runners this weekend with Colin Rigby and Brendan Bolland opting for this undulating, but scenic road race round Coniston Water. Colin found the undulations a little hilly! Hence – with a little head wind – his time was a somewhat slower than he anticipated, although I find 1.22.27 for 7th overall (with hills) not bad at all, Col was also second 0/40. No complaints from Brendan who ran 1.26.27 for 18th place.

Arrant Haw Fell Race

Darren Kay was our sole representative in the Arrant Haw fell race on Sunday winning in style when taking two minutes off his time from last year. Darren was particularly pleased with his performance, especially now it’s a local race for him at Sedbergh and its a race he’s been trying to win for a couple years (to impress the locals) placing 2nd and 3rd previously, Darren clocked 38.8. Looking good for Slieve Bearnagh!
