12.5.26 Track Update

A fantastic Saturday for the Horwich juniors at the Greater Manchester Champs at Leigh, a total of 9 athletes picked up 3 Golds, 1 Silver and 3, 4th places and 10 PB’s.

The day started with U16 Jack Fletcher and U18 Amelia Jones winning the 300H and 400H respectively with Jack getting the English Schools standard.

Next up were the 100 metre heat and straight final races, the U16 Abi Ajet and Lily Mort PB ran well with Lily qualifying for the final, followed by Oscar Burke PB also making the final. In the straight finals U14 Theo Bolton came 4th, while U18’s Joel Ige got 2nd and Chidera Ajet a good 5th.

Later in the day in the 100m finals Lily came 5th with another PB 13.55 and Oscar won Gold in 11.50.

To finish the day off Amelia and U16 Sarah Lawman PB came 4th just missing out on a medal. Abi was the only field athlete who did shot put throwing a good 7.78.
