Auld Lang Syne
Auld Lang Syne Fell Race 31st December 7 miles
Over 400 runners gathered at the start for this popular fell race. The conditions were good for racing although very muddy. Chris Farrell had a brilliant race sitting on England International Tom Adams shoulder until the final mile he pulled away to record a famous victory in 41.19. Another great run came from Irish International Kilian Mooney with a third place finish in 42.55. Another low scoring counter was required for the team award and this came from Michael Cayton who recorded 42.55 in an excellant 9th place. This clinched the team prize by some way. Other good runs came from Paul Boardman 119th in 57.28 and Steve Jackson was third O/60 in 146th place in a time of 58.48. The final Horwich runners were Tony Hesketh in 206th and Jason Middleton 311th
