Millbrook Monster 10k and Junior Monster 4k

A small group of athletes from Horwich RMI travelled to Stalybridge to take part in these two tough trail races with over 220 runners in the Senior race and were rewarded with some exceptional results.

Andy Ford finished in 14th place in 42.13 an improvement by almost two minutes from last year. A few runners went off course and where disqualified. In the veteran category Tony Hesketh won the O/65 category beating all the O/60 category too in 44th place in 49.19.

In the junior race again some juniors went off course but nevertheless Horwich still had some prize winners. 10 year old Cian Healy who is in good form at the moment finished second only 6 seconds behind the winner from East Cheshire Harriers and Nathan Lancaster and Toby Middleton finished 8th and 9th after going off course when lying 5th and 6th. In the Girls race Freya Whittle was third after a typical gutsy run and Molly Clarkson ran well for 6th place with Ellie Green having a good race in 8th place.
