2014 Competition Planning

2014 Competition Planning – Jolly Crofters Pub (Thursday 28th November – 8pm / 8.15pm start)

Profile of attendee: All categories of runner welcome but emphasis on XC and Fell for 2014.

For those that want to compete well on the fells at the British and or English Championships the season as you know is long – planning is therefore essential to know when to train hard and when to take it easy so you don’t burn yourselves out or deliver the performance you expected.

Our aim is to start to plan for the “race demands / course profile” for each key xc / fell race and how training can be aligned to these requirements.

In short Thursday is to start the ball rolling and plan a “club priority competition list” for both road XC and fell in 2014 and therefore continue to develop the fantastic team spirit and dominate at individual and team level.

We also want to develop our “elite” and by elite development we include all age group categories eg: V40, V45,V50 etc

Effective planning will also ensure you can plan for your family / social commitments – so come and have a natter and a pint this Thursday after training.

We have in the short term real possible opportunities to deliver at the Lancashire county XC champs (for the ladies) and positions for the team men in the Greater Manchester XC.
