Pennington Flash 5 Mile – CLGP
Pennington Flash 5 Mile – CLGP
198 runners completed what was a tough course with a number of undulations and a strong wind along the canal section.
Tom Carson won the race and took the accolade of beating the course record, held by Nick Leigh (Altrincham). On the team front both Bolton Harriers and Horwich RMI achieved the same points (first 3 to count) but Bolton took the win due to their 3rd placer being in front of our 3rd placer by 1 position !!
Coming into the race Bolton were 1 point in front of Horwich RMI in the overall mens team CLGP and unfortunately Bolton now extend their lead with only 3 CLGP races left for 2013, based on the provisional results below: –
Horwich – top 10 placings : – 3, 7, 13, 14, 40, 41, 53, 72, 88, 122
Bolton – top 10 placings : – 1, 10, 12, 18, 21, 24, 25, 35, 37, 38
– Just to show Bolton’s depth 13 additional positions came in front of our 10th placer – 39, 50, 51, 58, 60, 67, 79, 85, 99, 111, 116, 118, 119
So a big thank you to all those harriers that took time out this morning which is greatly appreciated – a great effort made by all.
The next CLGP event is on Sunday 29th September and is the Swinton 10. A perfect race for fell runners and road runners alike.
