Adrian Selby’s brothers charity Iron Man

Adrian Selby

Last month a very close friend of mine and long time member of Horwich RMI Harriers Adrian Selby sadly passed away after a long illness.

During his 16 years as a member of the Harriers I was team captain and Adrian ran for me in many of the relays and always seemed to get it just right on the day, he was always one of my first selections and from memory he never had a bad run, he was a class act and his style made it look so easy for him but I am sure it wasn’t.  He had a wicked sense of humour and would always be on top form at the relays keeping us entertained, my favourite races were always the 6 and 12 stage relays and it was lads like Adie that made it so worthwhile for me.

Adrians mum and dad Mike and Irene have written to me to say it was a great comfort to them to see so many Harriers attending the funeral service, they say that Adrian always spoke highly of the spirit and friendship of the Horwich RMI members.

Adrians brother Martin and Adrians brother in law Tony have both entered this months UK Ironman Triathlon which is on the 31st July in Bolton, they have entered the race to raise money for the 2 main charities that helped and supported Adrian and his family with support and care over the last few months of his life.
