Sportshall – 27.02.11

Young Horwich RMI Harrier athlete, Declan Snape, helped the Lancashire Under 15 Boys Team to victory in the Sportshall Athletics North West Championships held at Wigan. Competing were teams full of talented athletes from Merseyside, Cheshire, Greater Manchester and Cumbria. Declan tied in 2^nd place in the under 15 overall athlete of the competition. He will now represent Lancashire in the UK National Sportshall Finals to be held in April at the NEC Arena, Birmingham.

Horwich RMI Harriers also had 5 other young athletes representing Lancashire on the day. In the Under 13 Girls, Martha Gill performed well in the High Jump finishing 2^nd, along with Ellie Dacre who also finished 2^nd in the Speed Bounce. Lucy Keating ran fantastic in the relays. The Under 13 Girls from Lancashire finished in 3^rd place

In the Under 13 Boys, James Lovell ran and jumped well to earn some hard fought medals on the day, whilst Jonathan Powis ran a great 6 Lap race and jumped well in the Standing Triple Jump.
