On the subject of Parkrun I was very pleased to do my 50th parkrun a couple of weeks ago at Peel Park ![]()
The icing on the cake is that I’ve been 1st in my age category in all 50 and even now at age 58 a sub 18mins time again is close. ![]()
To think that although I’ve been running and racing continuously for 43 years since the age of 15, I only did my first parkrun in June 2022.![]()
This was thanks to my Uncle Steve who introduced me to Pennington Flash parkrun ![]()
I consider them to be super events in themselves and excellent intense workouts as part of a training programme. No matter what time you complete them in![]()
Our youngest niece at age 15 completed her first parkrun just over a week ago and our older niece has now done 15 and has got her time down to 24mins 30s 👏👏🏃♀️🏃♀️![]()
As an added bonus, the day after my 50th parkrun I was 1st in M55 age category at the Aintree 10km in 38mins 31s wearing the RMI vest as I have been doing since 1987 ![]()

Updated XC dates for the remainder of the XC season. Lancs champs this weekend, followed by the Manchester League at Tatton Park on the 13th. SELCC and the RR will have a combined event on the 20th at Marl Pits.
A reminder to everyone wanting to do the Nationals and Northerns championships. Closing date for Northerns entries are the 14th. Please let Pete or myself know BEFORE then so we can process your entries. There is no late entry process...
