Commonwealth Mountain Running Championship Keswick Friday 18th Sept.

Katie’s Magnificent Second Place.

Katie Ingram (48.43) ran the race of her life when finishing second to Anna Frost (48.06) of New Zealand in the inaugural Uphill’ only race at the Commonwealth Mountain Running Championship held over the weekend at Keswick. Katie was in positive mode after her great run at the World Championships in Italy earlier in the month as she took the lead on the short downhill section after Latrigg summit, which she maintained over the next 2k before Anna – last years WMRA Grand Prix winner – very gradually edged past to create a 37sec gap by the finish. In third place for England was Rebecca Robinson (49.12) from Kendal who had a great race, and with Victoria Wilkinson (49.50) in fourth, England easily took the team Gold.

Katie now has 48 hours rest and recovery before taking on the ‘Up & Down’ course on Sunday – we wish her luck.
