Trafford 10k – Sunday 13th Sept.

First Team & Three PB’s

Trafford got an update with a new course and chip timing, which obviously suited Gary Priestley, Neil Pendlebury and Richard Howarth as they all claimed new PB’s.

Gary and Neil went off very fast, 4.40 I believe for the first mile! They powered round the course and only started to feel the effects of the early pace around the 8k mark but their fast start paid off as Gary ran 31.19 – 1.37 inside his old PB for 6th place. Neil’s previous PB of 33.16 was also shattered as he clocked 31.33 for 7th. Not to be outdone Richard also did a PB of 33.18 from his previous 34.22, giving them first team in a quality field. Alastair Murray unfortunately started with a cold the day before and thought he would give it a go – as you do, but his time of 34.23 indicated it had taken effect. Kevin Newhall also enjoyed his run on the new course with a time 38.47. In the ladies race Angela Allen had a rare race outing along with daughter Dionne, both had set a target time of 40 minutes which they duly made in 39.38 & 39.24 respectively, Dionne finishing 7th and Mum 9th, Angela also collected the 1st 0/40 prize, plus it was a PB for Dionne being her first 10k race.
