Lap times were sorted at 74-5 and lead positions were to change every 400m – to help with even pace running. Both lads hit the lap times with meticulous regularity up to the seventh lap when Gary was prompted to go on from Gareth and head for a PB, which he duly did running 15.29.6. Gareth finished strongly claiming a track PB for 5000m of 15.46. Gary and Gareth were first and second respectively and managed to lap all the other runners. Gary was then nicely roped into the 400m relay and ran a PB of 57.09 (provisional) on the anchor leg to bring the combined team into second place. Both enjoyed the day, so did Pete and I, its something other club runners should try, I am sure they would enjoy it.
