Chorley Park Series – Race 1. Friday 24th April
Time has flashed by once again as we start another Chorley Park series, this popular little race gives an opportunity for a blast round the park and to compare previous times to check on early season form. James Kevan (16.55) ran a second short of his PB – finishing second to Phil Leybourne of Salford – as our first counter, hopefully heading back to some form after a series of mini injuries. Brendan Bolland (18.05) ran this short course well for fourth place with Simon Parkinson (18.42) pleased with his eighth place. This would have been the first team, if there had been one! Paul Boardman added to his race list for this year with 14th place – (after his 12th place two days earlier at Rochdale in the Colin Robinson 5 mile trail race, with congratulations to his son Sam finishing 26th and first junior in the same race). Carl Balshaw was 39th in 21.40 with Pete Bland (22.02) taking our only age group prize in 44th – being the first 0/60. Barry Allman, after a tough hill session the night before – did well for 48th and 22.41 – 39 seconds Pete!
