Super PB for Katie
Abbey Dash 10k ~ Leeds Sunday 23rd Nov
Katie Ingram made the big jump down from 34.06 to her new sub 34 time of 33.42 at this super fast 10k course in Leeds.
Getting to race was initially in doubt as the M62 was closed for gritting after a multi car pile up. Our driver Gareth Booth hung on patiently for the motorway to open again giving us just an hour to get to Leeds and ready for the race. Helen Clitheroe won the ladies race in a new PB of 32.15 with Katie finishing a fine second, taking some quality scalps including Tracey Morris.
Gareth unfortunately, had to succumb to a mild asthma flair up as he raced in the cold air – race start time 9.30am – and was disappointed with his 35.25 and not being able to take advantage of the fast course. Simon Parkinson did however, running a new PB of 36.09 – and that was after his efforts at the SEL the day before.
