Lisa Back On Form.
Haigh Hall 4 – Wednesday Aug 13th.
Lisa Heyes (25.37) had to pull out all the stops to win this local four miler after being chased hard all the way by Jayne Taylor of Wigan. Lisa judged her finishing pace well to win by just two seconds. This was a super run by Lisa which will give her plenty of confidence for future races. Claire Burns (26.52) was our only other lady running finishing 6th lady and who had to contend with husband Mark coming past her on the finishing mile – who obviously was now condemned to sink duties for a week!
The men collected the team award with Steve Nolan (22.33) & first 0/45 – doing great for 6th with Guy Heyes (22.50) coming through – as usual – very strong at the end to take 7th, ably backed up by Karl Ward (23.45) in 11th and back racing again Glyn Kay (24.21) in 16th, this gave us victory over a strong Bolton team who were just two points behind. Paul Boardman (24.27) continued his very heavy race program finishing in 18th place, with Carl Balshaw (26.40) running well for 41st. Alistair Murray had to pull out of the race not feeling too well and had to spend the night in hospital for observation. We all send our best wishes to Ali for a speedy return to training and racing.
