A quality invited field up front led to some fast times on this new course with Julius Kimeu winning in 65.08 and with the first seven under 68.00 on a course I believe was not fast! So Colin Rigby’s run finishing 12th in 74.57 was a super run. Collecting the first vet’s prize nowadays in big races takes some doing! Colin, never really happy with his times had to be content with this race performance just 20 seconds down from his Swinton time seven days earlier – on a tougher course.

I believe this new venture by New Balance was a big success with great organisation.
There were 1500 runners in the field.
