Wilmslow Half Marathon ~ 29th March 2009.

Weather conditions were fine, with a cold crisp spring morning for the Wilmslow half Marathon, which this year incorporated the England Half Marathon Championships. Club twosome Guy and Lisa Heyes took part in preparation for the Edinburgh Marathon in May; Guy ran a superb 74.14 smashing his personal best by over 15 mins!!! (Been a long time since his last half marathon!) Looking good for the Marathon.

Lisa ran 80.50 an excellent time saying she was only going out to run the marathon qualifying time for the elite entry of sub 83mins! Lisa finished 10th lady overall in a quality elite field – finally back mixing it with the elite! (It’s about time, more to come!) Looks like the club duo had a good day all round, well run.

Carl Balshaw and Simon Kirby also managed to get a place in this very popular half, with Carl running 1.36.34 and Simon 1.44.16. Not sure if we had any more PB’s but I would guess that Carl’s good spell of training may have paid dividends.
