A field of over 180 runners gathered in Leyland for this race. Ideal conditions made for good racing.

Rob Affleck of Preston won easily. First home with an excellent race for Horwich was Dave Jackson; 7th place in a time of 33.34. Remarkably only 5th veteran this was despite cycling there and also running in Birmingham the day before. The only other runner was Tony Hesketh; first over sixty five in a new category in 36th place with a time of 42.54 and he also ran in Birmingham the day before.
