Rivington Pike Fell Race 23rd April 2011
An impressive turnout of thirty harriers ran the Pike race in excellent conditions on Saturday. The race was won by GB international Andi Jones in 17:09, a minute clear of second position. Alastair Murray was first harrier home in 18:19 in an excellent 5th position, taking 40 seconds off last years time. The men finished second team with Gary Priestley finishing in 12th, Dave Milliken in 15th and Gareth Booth in 20th.
Age groups winners also include Dave Milliken and John Parker. The vets also won the team prize.
The Horwich ladies all had excellent performances. They dominated the team event and was led home by Rachael Thompson in 2nd place, Lindsay Brindle finished in 4th and Debbie Campbell was 8th.
Mary White was the first vet 60 and Lola Small was the first vet 75 with a new age group record.
