9th Great Grizedale Trail

9th Great Grizedale Trail – 27th March 2011

A beautiful afternoon bestowed approx 300 runners on this increasingly popular 10 mile trail race run on the tracks through Grizedale Forest. Six Harriers participated consisting of Paul’s Boardman & Murray, Fran Walker, Suzanne Budgett & twin sisters Mary White & Margaret Huyton (who incidentally brought along sibling younger twin sisters Joan & Anne). We had pretty much near perfect running conditions – not too hot, not too cold & not too much breeze. Margaret & Mary made this a true family affair & all sisters ran round together enjoying the moment & catching up en route. Not the usual terrain to spy Paul Murray on but nonetheless he had quite a flyer leaving a large part of the field in his wake. Fran Walker had a good run too, still in her first year of running will reap the rewards of her training & continue to improve. Paul Boardman was first Harrier home & both Suzanne & Mary picked up prizes.
