AGM 2010
On Wednesday 13th October we had the 86th Horwich RMI Harriers AGM at the Arena and this note is just to keep you up to date with some of the business that took part at the meeting.
Pete Bland, after seven years in the position as Chairman, stood down to concentrate on being Road Captain and general organiser of you the athletes? I think your job has just got harder Pete? His replacement Pete Ramsdale then had the honour of proposing Pete Bland as a Life Member of Horwich RMI in recognition of all the work he has done not just as Chairman but in all roles with the club over a very long period. I am pleased to report that it was passed unanimously.
The only other proposal presented to the meeting was an increase of family membership fee from £40 to £50 for any number of members living at the same address. It was explained that this is suggestion was to help out with the £5 per athlete that the club has to pay every year to England Athletics. This too was passed.
It was a very pleasing turn out of over 25 senior members and with club funds still buoyant and the membership very steady, it just remains for me to remind all members that membership fees are now due for 2010-11 at the same level as last year, except for family membership, and for seniors a £2 reduction is still in place for payments made before 21st November.
A full list of the new committee members and positions can be found on the web site.
Enjoy your running
